Idaho Central Credit Union donates $500 for Caldwell High Business class field trip
Matt Schneiderman's Wealth Management class at Caldwell High received a $500 donation from Idaho Central Credit Union to finance a field trip to Boise on April 6th. They will have a chance to learn more about personal and business finance from some great sources. They will go to Zions Bank and engage in a personal finance problem-solving scenario facilitated by Karen Applegren, Vice President and Director of the Business Resource Center. They will then have a chance to eat lunch at Meraki Greek Restaurant and hear how the owner, Aki Kazantzakis, started his own business after getting an international business degree and working in accounting and finance for many years. After lunch, students will walk over to Trailhead which is dedicated to providing mentoring to startup businesses in the Treasure Valley. Dan Faricy, Executive Director of Trailhead, will lead students through an ideation workshop on how they might use their savings and access other forms of financing to start their own business. It should be a great day!
Many thanks to Jacob Velasquez (Business Relations Officer at Idaho Central Credit Union) and Idaho Central Credit Union for making this unique learning experience for the students possible!
