Wilson Elementary Geography Bee
February 1, 2017
Wilson Elementary held their 20th Geography Bee on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. All students in fourth, fifth, and ALP were invited to participate. There were 45 students who practiced on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the month of December and January with Mrs. Pattee and Mrs. Rodwell, ALP teachers. All students completed a pre-test to qualify for the 35 spots available for the final competition.
Mayor Garrett Nancolas , the “bee master” for the past 20 years at Wilson, conducted the geography bee. After 6 rounds and several ties, there were two finalists. They included Eli Ankeny and Madison Talich, both 5th Grade ALP students. After three final questions, Eli Ankeny was awarded “Wilson Elementary School Geography Bee” champ. Eli will go on to compete at the state level on March 31, 2017 in Rexburg, Idaho. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the annual event.
