Even though we will be doing fewer Google Meets now that we are back in a hybrid teaching model, I wanted to pass along some of the new Meet features that have recently been rolled out to your accounts... These include "Casting", "Tiled w/ 49 Students Showing", and "Host Controls for Screen Sharing and Chat".
Allows you to cast your Meet onto a television if you have one in your classroom
This shows up 2 places on your Meet...
On the "JOINING" screen:
And, in the bottom right hand corner with the "3 DOTS" menu inside of the Meet:
Allows you to see anywhere between 6 and 49 students at a time natively inside a Meet without using a Chrome extension
Found in the bottom right hand corner with the "3 DOTS" menu inside of the Meet (use the slider bar to choose number of students showing):
Allows you to force uninvited guests to "ask" to join, even if they have a Caldwell Schools email address... allows you to control who can share their screen and who can use the chat box (though these are ALL vs NONE settings so you cannot select individual students to have permissions)
Found in the bottom left hand corner with the "BLUE PADLOCK" menu inside of the Meet:
That's my update on the latest Google Meet updates (Google loves to do updates..haha!).
