Doll of my Dreams

Students at Sacajawea Elementary wrote essays for dolls in a contest called Doll of my Dreams. Any student at Sacajawea could write an essay about why they wanted a doll or what they would do with their doll.  Sacajawea is trying to encourage more writing, as that is an indicator of quality performing schools.

A generous donation by Bev Rehberg and the doll club she belongs to provided the dolls and some of the clothes. The students were excited to play with the dolls or to give them to their sisters. We even had a preschool student draw a picture and had her sister Vivi Lopez write the essay so she could get a doll as well.  Principal Alexander's favorite pair is of Chelsea Murdoch and her new Raggedy Anne doll.  It is a perfect match.  He was also touched by the special stories and the excitement for his students and their new friend.
