I married my Caldwell High school sweetheart, Arturo Rojas, and we have lived most all of our lives in Caldwell. We have two children, Breana, a senior at Caldwell High, and Niko Rojas, a seventh grader at Syringa Middle. I worked at the Canyon County Courthouse as a misdemeanor probation officer/pre-trial release officer for nine years. We have owned our own business for 15 years, this year a full-service carwash and detail center in Ontario. I became a stay-at-home mother in 1998 and became a full-time bookkeeper for our company. Being a stay-at-home mother has been a real blessing. I have been able to participate more with my kids' education. I was involved with the PTO, have volunteered at my kids' school regularly and was also on the Safe Schools committee. I believe that being involved with the school district was the reason for me wanting to become a board of trustee member. Never in my wildest dreams had I thought I would become the chair of the board. It has been an honor and priviledge to be part of the CSD team.

We arrived in Caldwell in the fall of 1969 and established an obstetrical practice. We completed our three-child family that year with the birth of our son. All three of our children graduated from Caldwell High School. In 1973, I was joined in practice with Dr. Ring. We have been very active in community life in Caldwell and feel that its citizens have made it possible for us to live a good life here. Being active on the school board is one way I can give back this gift. A lot of people move to Boise on retirement but we have no such plans.

I have been an Idaho resident since arriving at the College of Idaho as a freshman in 1980. Hailing from southern California, I completely fell in love with Caldwell and my husband Rob. We have been married for 27 years and have three children - Anthony, age 17 who attends Canyon Springs High School, Rebecca age 14 and Zachary age 11 who are both attending Syringa Middle School. As a parent, I am in touch with students who have learning disabilities to those for whom school is a passion and excel easily. I bring this experience and passion to the school board to be a community advocate to ensure that all students learn and find an area in life for which they excel and can take to adulthood to become contributing members of our community. I believe that in school we "have no do-overs" and that drives me to engage in constant research, to talk to community members, parents and school personnel and to dream about how we can ensure that Caldwell is the premiere school district, not just in Idaho, but in the world.

I was born in 1955 in Stockholm Sweden. In 1963, my parents moved the family to Los Angeles, Calif., where they opened and operated a Scandinavian import business. Since 1991, I have made my living as a professional stand-up comedian. I travel the United States and Canada performing for nightclub audiences, colleges and corporate events.

I came to Caldwell in January of 1994 to perform at Victors Lounge. Unbeknownst to me, my future wife, Julie Kerrick, was in the audience. Julie, a fifth-generation Canyon County resident, along with her parents, Dr. Charles Kerrick and Pat Kerrick, and six siblings, made me feel instantly at home, and in love with this area. I moved to Caldwell May 1, 1994, and married Julie on July 1, 1995. We have two children. My son Erik is in his first year of middle school at Jefferson, and my daughter Rachal is in her first year at Caldwell High.

I have always had an interest in community service so in March of 2008 when I was asked if I was interested in filling a vacancy on the Caldwell School Board, I felt honored to accept the invitation to be interviewed by the current board and stand for election.
